St Hilaire du Touvet
North launch, aka "The Carpet"

The main take-off in St Hilaire du Touvet. Every year the carpet gets filled with thousands of people watching the Coupe Icare mascarade flight contest.
Opened in 1986, St Hilaire launch area was the place holding the first french paragliding nationals in 1987.
The French Open competition week will also be an opportunity to celebrate the Nationals 20th anniversary.
South launch

The second launch in St Hilaire is a good alternative to the carpet.
Only 200 meters away it's a large grassy area very useful when the wind's blowing south.
Allevard - Les Plagnes

Large grassy area above 2000 meters in Belledone mountains, this launch will be used in case of strong temperature inversion in the lower part of the valley. This will be a good start for high altitude tasks.
Montlambert

Close to Albertville, Montlambert launch is one of the most protected from the North wind, which could save the day northy conditions.
La Scia

La Scia, stuck in the very middle of the Chartreuse offers a higher launch than St Hilaire in the wild valleys of the national parc.

Altitude: 1480m

Le Sire launch offers a large take-off that gives its best in south or south west winds.
Chamrousse
Orientation: West
Altitude: 1840m

Large launch area looking over Grenoble that gives an obvious access to Belledone summits.
Ebaudiaz

Altitude: 1650m

The wild Ebaudiaz take-off is looking over Albertville and permits late afternoon tasks.
